Student life at EIS-Jumeirah is varied, challenging, stimulating and highly rewarding. All students at the school are expected to achieve success at all stages of their learning both inside and outside of the classroom. Student's overall well-being is developed in line with the IB learner profile: EISJ leaners are Knowledgeable, Caring, Reflective, Inquirers, Open-Minded, Thinkers, Balanced, Communicators, Risk-Takers and Principled. These characteristics are displayed at school, at home, in the wider community and on-line.
Student owned learning is prevalent around the school as the 'Signs of Success' platform for learning grows. Students self and peer assess, monitor and moderate their own learning and that of other students and set themselves achievable goals. Critical thinking, problem solving and inquiry based Action learning encourage students to reach their maximum potential in global context, truly allowing themselves to be considered as young global citizens within a UAE context.
The students have many opportunities to be involved in or to initiate charitable and community development projects both locally and overseas, as well as take part in numerous clubs and societies after school.
Students in the Primary School have several leadership opportunities around school development, including an active Student Council, positive behaviour managers, 'big buddies' club and newly formed House Captain and Deputy Captain positions in the newly revised House system.
