Welcome to EIS-Jumeirah

Welcome to Emirates International School Jumeirah (EISJ)

I hope this website will give you some flavour of what it is like to be a member of this prestigious community here in Dubai.

EISJ was the first IB World School in Dubai, having been authorised to offer the IB Diploma Programme in 1992. We are now an IB Continuum School, authorized to offer all four IB programmes: IB Primary Years Programme, IB Middle Years Programme, IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme. Our student body comprises 2000 students aged 3 – 19 from more than 70 different nationalities. Our academic staff are recruited from around the world. This wealth of experience and international mindedness is a source of engagement for our students.

Being an IB school, we are aligned with the IB philosophy and ensure that it filters through every element of the school.  You will see that we do not only focus on curriculum objectives but we connect different disciplines together, learn through collaborative enterprises, answer the big questions and ensure that we develop the whole child for the modern world.  This means that children will leave us with great knowledge but also the skills to continue to develop themselves academically and personally.

EISJ is a school which has served its community for many years and hence, culture is important within the school. Students are encouraged to be good representatives of their own culture and heritage. They are also made aware of the role and values of the host country and are knowledgeable and respectful of local heritage and norms. Festivals and traditions of all cultures are appreciated thus laying the foundation for global citizenship.

Furthermore, we welcome parents to the school to join in with our celebrations and will always make ourselves available to discuss any concerns, subject to current conditions.  It is very important to us that we have a strong home school partnership as we know that it improves the education process when we work together.

Our website contains much more information and I encourage you to take a good look around to get a fuller picture of what EISJ represents.  I am also happy to answer any of your questions and am sure that a visit to our school will only enhance our reputation.
