High School: Graduation
2007/8 Graduation:
Emirates International School - Jumeirah is pleased to announce the graduation of
the Class of 2008. This important ceremony took place on Thursday, 29th May and
was open to invited guests only. This year we had 94 students in the graduating
class, representing 25 nationalities.
During the Graduation Ceremony, students who achieve a minimum internal assessment
Grade of "3" for each of their six IBDP courses are awarded their EIS-Jumeirah High
School Diploma. As EIS – Jumeirah holds accreditation with with Middle States Association
of Colleges and Schools (MSA) the EIS-Jumeirah High School Diploma is equivalent
to a High School Diploma awarded within the United States of America.
In addition to the EIS-Jumeirah Diploma, EIS – Jumeirah offers the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Grades 12 and 13. Of the graduating class,
78 students were entered for the IBDP. An impressive 68 of these students were awarded
the prestigious diploma.
The majority of the members of the class will continue their education at various
universities, with Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom proving the
most popular destinations.
The Graduating Class of 2008 is distinguished by many outstanding students. Student
achievement is recognised in both academic and non-academic areas of school life.
The awards span a range of categories from Outstanding Academic Student to Best
Athlete in the graduating class. Please refer to the "Awards" page of our website
for further information. This year, Sara Zafar is the Valedictorian, with Abdullah
Abdul Qader delivering the Arabic speech.

Our top scoring IBDP student was Sara Zafar with 40 points, closely followed by
Jonathan Oughourlian with 39 points and Hannah Hannawi, Amina Mirza, Risha Punwaney,
Jenna Louise Rines and Tarini Shrikjande with 38 points.
